Summer and the holiday season are times for adventure and relaxation. However, to ensure your trip isn't marred by unpleasant incidents, it is vital to remember basic safety rules. We have prepared a checklist to help protect you and your loved ones.

1. Water Safety ๐ŸŒŠ

Water does not forgive carelessness. Follow these simple but life-saving rules:

  • Swim only in specially designated areas. Avoid wild beaches and unknown bodies of water.

  • Do not dive in unfamiliar places. There may be snags, rocks, or shallow water on the bottom, which can lead to serious injuries.

  • Do not swim beyond the buoys or attempt to swim across bodies of water.

  • Never leave children near water unattended for even a second. A child can drown even in shallow water.

  • Do not enter the water while intoxicated. This is the leading cause of water-related tragedies.

2. Forest Picnics: Fire and Insects ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ

The forest is a wonderful place to relax, but it demands respect.

  • Lighting Fires: Only build fires in specially designated areas (gazebos with grills, fire pits). If this is not possible, dig a trench around the fire site and clear away dry grass and branches. Never leave a fire unattended, and when leaving, be sure to douse it with water or cover it with earth until it stops smoldering completely.

  • Insect Bites: Use repellents to protect against mosquitoes and ticks. To guard against ticks, wear closed clothing and headwear when heading into the woods. Thoroughly check yourself and your children after your walk.

  • Litter: Take all your trash with you. Plastic and glass left in the forest can cause fires (the lens effect) or harm animals.

3. High Temperatures and the Sun โ˜€๏ธ

Heat can be just as dangerous as cold.

  • Sunburn: Tan gradually, avoiding direct sunlight during peak activity hours (from 11:00 to 16:00). Always use sunscreen with a high SPF.

  • Heatstroke: Wear a hat (panama, cap) and light clothing made of natural fabrics. Drink plenty of clean water, even if you don't feel thirsty.

4. Road Safety ๐Ÿš—

We often travel a lot by car during vacations.

  • Risk: Driver fatigue, speeding.

  • Measure: Get plenty of sleep before a long trip. Stop every 2-3 hours to stretch. Strictly observe speed limits and traffic regulations. All passengers must wear seat belts, and children must be in special car seats.

5. Theft and Fraud ๐ŸŽ’

Pickpockets and scammers become more active in tourist areas.

  • Risk: Theft of money, documents, and electronics.

  • Measure: Do not keep all your valuables in one place. Keep money and documents in internal pockets or a bag that is always in your sight (e.g., on your chest). Do not display large amounts of cash or expensive gadgets in crowded places.

Stay vigilant, take care of yourself, and enjoy every day of your vacation!
