At HSE DAYS platforms, significant attention is paid to personnel development, including the implementation of modern approaches to safe work training. One method for employees to study technological processes and practice safe work skills is the use of virtual reality technology.
Today, Russian Railways uses VR simulators for employee training. These simulators allow workers to gain experience in simulated production scenarios while remaining in a safe environment, reinforcing core safe behavior skills.
To date, Russian Railways has implemented more than 20 types of VR-based simulators that focus on practicing safe work procedures.
These simulators are used for track fitters, locomotive drivers, electromechanics, and other high-volume railway professions.
A number of simulators include effects showing the consequences of safety violations; for example, in the event of an electric shock, a flash appears and the worker's fall is simulated. Such effects add realism to the training and allow employees to gain "experiential knowledge."
As virtual training continues to evolve, the creation of a virtual railway station is being considered. This would allow employees from different departments to master safe technological operations while working in groups.
