For the shift workers of the Vorkuta Linear Production Management of Main Gas Pipelines, the compressor station is not only a workplace but also a place of residence for five months a year. That is why the condition of sanitary and amenity premises (recreation rooms, dining areas, and residential complexes in general) is given paramount attention. It is important not only to provide comfort but also to integrate a safety culture into all aspects of life.
To implement PJSC Gazprom's Policy on occupational health, industrial and fire safety, road safety, and the improvement of the unified HSE management system, the Key Safety Rules of PJSC Gazprom were approved. These are mandatory for every employee of the branch to study.
However, the dry text of a document does not always convey information effectively. Numerous studies confirm that people absorb visual images better than text or audio formats. Guided by this principle, a corresponding sign was developed for each key rule. These signs are typically placed on information boards and workplaces. But the Vorkuta LPU MG went further.
To make safety reminders an organic part of the everyday environment, a decision was made to take an unconventional approach. To implement this, Sergey Volgin, a well-known street artist in the city, was invited. The artist agreed to create a series of 12 paintings that illustrate the Key Safety Rules of PJSC Gazprom in his unique style. Upon completion, the artworks were placed in dining rooms, corridors of non-production premises, and shift residential complexes.
This allows employees to constantly see and memorize the rules in an informal setting.
