For the third consecutive year, St. Petersburg hosted the final of the Brain Ring Cup on HSE. In 2025, 60 teams participated, representing company branches, universities, and organizations of PJSC Gazprom.
"The goal of the tournament is to enhance the HSE culture and foster a positive attitude towards occupational safety," noted Vitaly Chudin, the company's Deputy Chief Engineer, in his welcoming speech.
A total of 168 unique HSE-related questions were prepared for the final. Within one minute, participants had to discuss possible answers, make the right decision, and manage to press the button on the Brain Ring system.
The tournament was traditionally held in two categories.
🏆 In the Friends Cup, the team from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University emerged victorious.
🏆 In the Company Cup, the employees of the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant took the top spot.
"The game was intense, and the high level of team preparation was evident. Sometimes, the outcome was decided solely by reaction speed when pressing the button. Special thanks to the organizers — the questions were of high quality and covered almost all areas of HSE," noted Farkhad Kusaliev, Deputy Head of Production No. 5 for Occupational Safety at the Astrakhan GPP.
Alexander Prisich, ASUP Engineer at UTZHU, from the "Gas Rescue Squad" team, also shared his impressions:
"The Brain Ring format is perfect for an intellectual game. While preparing for the final, we studied additional materials and shared information within the team, which helped us gain a deeper understanding of the importance of HSE. I believe this format should be supported and developed so that it becomes a tradition at Gazprom Pererabotka. It is an effective way to engage more people in the topic of safety. A huge thank you to the organizers for the excellent organization and fantastic questions."
This approach to HSE engagement has already become a great tradition — and that is wonderful!
