Today, I am participating in the nationwide ranking competition for HSE directors and managers. I have already completed all stages of the competition, and I want to say "Bravo" to the organizers for creating such a warm and supportive community.
For me, participating in the ranking is an opportunity to check whether our department is keeping pace with reality. Have we become too bogged down in our internal routine tasks? Is it time to change something in our work? Is what we consider an achievement truly one? The ranking is a kind of barometer that allows you to check the level of your professional competence, identify bottlenecks in your activities, and aim for new heights.
At every stage of the competition, the organizers help participants navigate through it in the most psychologically comfortable environment possible. Valuable recommendations and feedback enhance the significance of each stage, as it can be difficult to objectively evaluate yourself and your work or to accept your weaknesses (and sometimes strengths are also hard to see and accept) in order to create a professional development plan for the future, both for yourself as a leader and for your team.
