In this article, I would like to share my experience in preventing road traffic accidents at the enterprise.
Today, there is a clear shortage of qualified personnel in the labor market, and this factor directly affects the organization of safe working conditions in production.
After analyzing the accidents that occurred at the enterprise, we realized, much to our regret, that we were facing the problem of low vehicle driver qualifications.
It would seem that all documents confirming the driver's qualifications are in perfect order, the employment records show many years of experience, and job interviews leave only positive impressions, but in reality, things look different.
To successfully control this risk and avoid future accidents at the production site, JSC "PAVLIK" decided to build training grounds to test drivers' practical driving skills.
In practice, we ended up with two training grounds: the first is designed to test the practical driving skills of auxiliary vehicle drivers (crew buses, trucks, passenger vehicles), and the second is intended for testing the practical skills of haul truck drivers.
Furthermore, the haul truck training ground is equipped with elements such as a simulator for approaching the bucket of loading equipment (excavators), elements imitating a safety berm in the pit to practice correct unloading at waste dumps, and standard elements like the "figure-eight," inclines, and declines using special braking systems.
This is where the real picture of the newly hired employees' qualifications became clear; additionally, current drivers also periodically use the training ground to maintain their "professional edge."
By implementing these training grounds, we have significantly reduced the risk of road traffic accidents at the enterprise.
