Currently, due to the rapid development of production processes and the emergence of new types of activities, occupational safety is becoming increasingly important.

Previous approaches to safety are losing their relevance, being replaced by proactive methods that allow for a more detailed and effective view of the situation through a systems approach.

Today, "business" understands that after acquiring an asset, it is necessary to implement modern approaches and best practices in HSE (launching/relaunching the industrial safety system from scratch) to guarantee the life and health of personnel, as well as to be a responsible and attractive employer in the labor market.

How to launch an industrial safety system "from scratch"?

Before doing so, it is necessary to conduct a maturity analysis of the existing health and safety system and determine further development steps.

Setting the main goals:

  • Description of the current stage of system development;
  • Assess the maturity level of the organizational system;
  • Identify gaps in the development of the organizational system;
  • Evaluate the impact of development gaps on system effectiveness;
  • Determine key directions for the development of the organizational system.

Defining key activities:

  • Collect necessary documents confirming the presence of system elements according to the system maturity analysis methodology;
  • Identify system stakeholders (including the system owner and users);
  • Assess the quality of system elements through structured interviews with stakeholders;
  • Determine the maturity level of the organizational system;
  • Identify gaps in the development of the organizational system;
  • Determine the impact of development gaps on system effectiveness through structured stakeholder interviews;
  • Justify the need and key directions for the development of the organizational system;
  • Develop a presentation based on the results of the organizational system analysis;
  • Develop a development plan for the organizational system;
  • Present the results of the maturity analysis to the CEO;
  • Provide the CEO with a concept/strategy for the development of industrial safety at the enterprise for the next 5 years.

Do you need to conduct a maturity analysis of the existing health and safety system and determine further development steps at your enterprise?

Today, occupational safety issues are vital and relevant for any enterprise. HSE is one of the core elements of corporate management. Therefore, creating and transforming a high-quality HSE management system, which will act as a link between the various elements of the safety system and its challenges, should be one of the main priorities of a modern enterprise's social policy.

If you want your enterprise to have a developed safety system to guarantee the life and health of your personnel, and to be a responsible and attractive employer in the labor market, the conclusion is obvious.
