A high level of safety culture has always been and will remain our company's top priority. However, in 2020, amidst the pandemic, we faced a challenge: "How can we draw attention to HSE issues when in-person events are not possible?" The solution was to transition the necessary activities, like many other business areas at the time, to an online format. This is how we organized and hosted the "HSE ONLINE" intellectual quiz game among the Company's enterprises. It marked a new step in conducting traditional occupational health, safety, and industrial security competitions, proposed and successfully tested by our enterprise.
In 2021, our enterprise launched a new initiative to hold the "HSE ONLINE" game among industrial enterprises in the Perm Region. In addition to our company, the organizers included the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Perm Region and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Forestry, and Ecology of the Perm Region.
The "HSE ONLINE" game, held on April 15 of that year for industrial enterprises in the Perm Region, featured companies with an average headcount of over 1,000 employees. There was no limit on the number of viewers. The game consisted of 6 rounds, each featuring a specific number of questions. At the start of each round, the host explained the rules and specific features of that round.
Ultimately, this format took root and became a tradition within the Company. During the game, which is broadcast live on the internet, teams compete against each other, solving riddles within a limited time in a popular "Quiz" style format. Questions are presented using various formats (text, video, images). For text-based questions, the host reads the question aloud, which is supplemented by visuals (images or video sequences) if necessary.
On April 28, 2023, the "HSE ONLINE" intellectual quiz game was held for the fourth time among the Company's enterprises, traditionally timed to coincide with World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year, 59 teams participated. Despite the challenging current realities, the game remains international, spanning 5 countries (Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Belarus, and Uzbekistan). Interest in the game remains high, evidenced not only by the record number of participating teams but also by the number of views.
