Today, well-established and effective Communication between production workers and HSE specialists is of great importance in increasing the level of trust.
And the "Safety Ambassadors" project helps us greatly with this.
As part of the "Safety Ambassadors" project, we are taking important steps towards building a safety culture in our Company. Our team of ambassadors from the "Prevention and Mentoring" track recently completed an internship in the Transport Safety Department of the Kola Site, which became a significant step towards expanding their professional knowledge and skills.
During the internship, the ambassadors actively participated in various activities, including site inspections and conducting incoming transport control on the Company's premises. They not only studied safety rules and standards but also got acquainted with the practical aspects of other functions within the Industrial Safety Department (hereinafter referred to as ISD). This allowed them to see how different departments interact to ensure the overall level of safety, as well as to identify best practices that can be implemented within their own roles.
An important element of the internship was the ambassadors' participation in HSE Day, where they had the opportunity to interact with colleagues from other departments and discuss current safety issues. In addition, this experience provided them with useful tools and approaches to improve the level of occupational safety in their daily practice.
Thus, the "safety ambassadors" not only develop their skills but also build strong connections with other functions within the ISD, which is critical for creating a safer working environment.
Gaining comprehensive experience, they return to their duties with new ideas and a readiness to put them into practice. This process of forming and developing ambassadors is a key element in achieving our common goal — improving the safety culture in all aspects of the Company's operations.
