Key Safety Rules
Many companies have adopted golden safety rules, life-saving rules, or key safety rules.
In this regard, SIBUR is no exception; however, the approach to working with these rules is often completely different.
Key Safety Rules at SIBUR are specific safety regulations where any deviation can lead to the most serious incidents; therefore, the strictest attention is paid to compliance with these rules.
How are Key Safety Rules communicated to employees, contractors, and visitors?
First and foremost, there is a standard that defines which safety rules are classified as key.
Key Safety Rules are included in all types of briefings, core instructions, contractual documents with contractors, and visitor memos, and are also posted on information boards for contractors to review freely.
The primary condition for implementing Key Safety Rules is zero tolerance for violations from all employees.
In the event of a Key Safety Rule violation, the following sanctions apply:
- Reprimand or dismissal for company employees who violate Key Safety Rules
- Sanctions stipulated in contracts with contractors (removal from the site, fines)
- Removal of visitors who violate the rules.
Additionally, Key Safety Rule violations are subject to internal investigation to identify why the breach occurred, which helps to completely prevent not only the incidents themselves but also the root causes that may create the preconditions for incidents.
