In my opinion, HSE is reaching a new level today. I think many would agree that safety is becoming one of the core values of companies, alongside human-centricity, care for people, and efficiency.
Therefore, working on the HSE brand is particularly relevant, and this is our shared responsibility.
Now, let's take a closer look at the components of an HSE brand.
An HSE brand is not just a set of rules and instructions, but a holistic perception of the safety culture within your company. It is how employees and external stakeholders perceive your commitment to ensuring safe working conditions.
A strong HSE brand builds trust, increases employee engagement, and contributes to creating a safe working environment.
What are the components of an HSE brand?
A safety culture where every employee understands the importance of complying with HSE standards and actively participates in their implementation.
- Training and development: regular HSE training and seminars that help employees improve their knowledge and skills in this area.
- Communication: effective communication channels for exchanging safety information, including internal newsletters, meetings, etc.
- Visual identity: using signs, posters, and other visual materials to convey safety rules and create a visual environment. Feedback: regular surveys and discussions with employees to identify problems and improve working conditions.
- Leadership engagement: active involvement of management in HSE processes, demonstrating the importance of this topic at all levels of the company.
- Documentation and standards: clear instructions, regulations, and HSE standards that are accessible to all employees.
- Risk analysis: regular assessment of workplace risks and measures to minimize them.
- Social responsibility: the company's participation in safety-related social initiatives, which helps build a positive image both within the team and externally.
- Additional motivation programs/projects (implemented jointly with HR): incentive systems for HSE compliance that help increase employee engagement.
By the way, each area is a separate project with its own strategy and plans.
