How to Evaluate the State of HSE in a Department

5 September 2023 🇷🇺 Original: русский 1 min read

I often see information like this in reports:

  • 300 people trained in HSE over the month
  • 150 employees underwent medical examinations
  • 1.5 million rubles spent on HSE

Is this good or bad? Is it a lot or a little? From what perspective should these figures be evaluated? The numbers exist, but they provide no information.

But what if it's like this: 500 people trained in HSE represents only 10% of the total number of employees who must be trained under HSE programs.

Then the figure of 500 becomes critical. It means that in this area, we urgently need to take action, change technologies and approaches, analyze what we are doing wrong, and determine how to do things differently to get out of the danger zone.

Therefore, we have developed a checklist that allows every manager to independently assess the state of HSE in their department.

The checklist outlines evaluation criteria to determine how close you are to the ideal result.
