In a constantly changing environment, disruptions, accidents and external shocks strike without warning, while business continuity plans often remain box-ticking documents sitting on a shelf. As a result, at the very first incident the company loses control and suffers huge losses. At the same time, in occupational safety, companies regularly run up against the human factor barrier: perfunctory safety briefings and fines do not reduce injury rates, and poorly designed motivation only pushes workers to conceal risks and incidents.

Join us for a webinar where Aleksandr Kuzin, Head of Business Continuity at OTEKO, and Dmitriy Stepanyuk, expert (psychologist) at Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant, will show how to protect the business in force majeure situations and how to engage employees in safety culture.

10:00 – 10:45 A unified business continuity and crisis management system: how to move from risk to resilience and keep the situation under control when nothing goes according to plan

Speaker: Aleksandr Kuzin, Head of Business Continuity, OTEKO

What we will cover:

  • How to identify the most critical processes and where to look first. We will show how to use a risk-based approach and incident and hazard data to pinpoint the processes whose shutdown poses the greatest risks to personnel, the environment and the organization as a whole.

  • Developing recovery strategies and writing continuity plans. We will discuss how to integrate safety requirements into the business continuity plan.

  • How to test a plan in action without waiting for an incident. We will talk about regular exercises, their types and their outcomes.

  • What crisis management is and what it consists of. We will break it down into its components: the structure of the crisis management team, roles and responsibilities, escalation protocols, and methods for rehearsing crisis scenarios.

  • Crisis simulations as a way to rehearse for a real crisis.

10:45 – 11:30 A framework for staff motivation in safety culture

Speaker: Dmitriy Stepanyuk, expert (psychologist), Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant

What we will cover:

  • Positive and negative criteria for staff commitment to safety culture

  • Experience applying a staff motivation system across various operational and corporate processes (event investigation, training, leadership, internal communications)
