A traditional medical examination is often perceived as a formality. However, modern companies increasingly see it as a tool for creating comprehensive employee care programs. In her presentation, Olga Budanova, Occupational Safety Director at Promomed Group, analyzes a practical case study of transforming basic medical procedures into a large-scale corporate health program.
Using her company as an example, the speaker shows how low employee engagement in their own health issues (only 9%) became a catalyst for revising approaches. Instead of formally complying with legal requirements, the chosen path was to create a system where every employee understands the value of prevention and timely diagnosis.
The first step in implementing the program was upgrading the infrastructure. A standard medical post was transformed into a licensed health center with an in-house general practitioner. This decision made it possible not only to provide first aid but also to systematically collect data on the team's health.
The key tool became the "health passport" — an individual document generated based on data from preliminary and periodic medical examinations, clinical check-ups, and mandatory questionnaires during the first visit. The general practitioner analyzes this data and categorizes employees into risk groups (low, moderate, high), highlighting cardiovascular diseases as a separate category.
To manage the program, the position of Corporate Health Specialist was introduced. Their tasks include organizing monthly events, conducting surveys, and engaging specialized experts for consultations on identified risk factors.
The effectiveness of the program directly depends on the quality of analytics. The speaker details how anonymized data from medical examinations and clinical check-ups are used to plan activities. A comparative analysis of the results revealed the main problems: metabolic disorders, cardiovascular system risks, and reproductive health issues.
Based on this data, targeted program areas with attractive names were formed: "Breathe Freely", "Health Diet", "Anti-Stress Pill", and others. Within these areas, 2-3 events are held monthly — both online lectures with specialized doctors and offline activities, including sports initiatives (swimming pool, gym, skiing).
For companies with branches across the country, reaching all employees is an acute problem. The presentation details the next stage of the program's development — the implementation of the "Corporate Health" mobile app.
The app allows for regular surveys to assess the well-being index, provides access to educational materials, and an event calendar. Gamification elements (for example, team step-count competitions) increase interest in the program. Personalized recommendations are generated based on an individual risk profile, covering not only physical health but also aspects such as sleep quality and financial well-being.
