The hallmark of the HSE DAYS project is an atmosphere of professional networking, a careful selection of participants, speakers, and experts in their field, all united by shared values.
It is a communication platform where one can demonstrate personal attitudes, safety approaches, present company achievements, and share effective tools.
Every specialist or company must eventually reach this point — feeling the need to share their personal attitude, experience, knowledge, approaches, and developments. If you know everything but keep that knowledge to yourself, it will be worthless to both you and others. Every company excels in some areas and is more advanced than others in certain aspects. We all gained our competencies thanks to other people. The desire for co-creation is the reason why we want to share with each other, allowing everyone to grow and develop.
Furthermore, during presentations, your own tools are automatically evaluated, and professional listeners contribute something new for our improvement, opening up the opportunity to look at situations "broader."
When a presentation sparks many detailed questions, it motivates me; it signals the interest of colleagues from various industries. This means these are valuable practices that other companies don't need to reinvent but can apply based on our positive experience.
A particularly valuable moment for me was when a project participant reached out after my presentation in July on the practice "Developing Line Management Through Safety Tools." I was invited to speak about this practice at an event hosted by the TVEL fuel company called "Safety DNA Leaders' Gathering."
The main participants were mid-level line managers, from foremen to shop managers. The core message was developing leadership qualities to ensure safety and building a leadership model. The expectation for me was to share experience in promoting a leadership position among managers.
There were many questions, and the participants showed great interest and high activity. This means it was interesting to them; they saw opportunities for themselves in this experience! And that is my motivation — to share experience that others can and want to apply! Thank you to our HSE DAYS project for providing such opportunities! And thanks to TVEL for providing feedback from their management to our company's management regarding the opportunity to exchange best practices and resources.
This allows us to ensure that we are on the right path toward a high level of safety culture development!
