Prevention of Acute Respiratory Diseases

20 November 2025 🇷🇺 Original: русский 1 min read

According to the World Health Organization, every adult suffers from acute respiratory diseases (flu, ARVI, etc.) on average 2 to 4 times a year. This is undoubtedly associated with the risk of developing complications in both the bronchopulmonary and other systems, as well as a high level of temporary disability.

Over the past two years, we have become more vulnerable and susceptible to the flu virus and other respiratory infections. This is primarily because the COVID-19 virus ("coronavirus") was predominant. As a result, our immunity to other infections has become less protective. Therefore, we can easily catch the flu and ARVI.

Flu symptoms:

The flu belongs to the group of acute respiratory viral infections, but it stands out as a specific infection that can cause serious and dangerous complications.

It is important to remember that at the first symptoms of ARVI and the flu, you must consult a doctor!

Self-medication is UNACCEPTABLE!

Every year, more than 5 million people worldwide contract the flu, with an average of 300,000 fatalities.

To avoid catching the flu and other acute respiratory diseases, it is necessary to follow preventive measures:

  • Include more fruits and vegetables in your diet, as well as foods containing protein and vitamin C; this will help strengthen your overall immunity.
  • Maintain personal hygiene, wash your hands after being outside and before eating.
  • Regularly perform wet cleaning and ventilate the room.
  • Lead a healthy lifestyle, exercise, and strengthen your body.
  • Avoid large crowds and contact with people showing signs of illness; if this is not possible, use a medical mask and change it every 2 hours.

The most effective means of protection against the flu is VACCINATION!

  • Vaccination increases immunity to flu viruses, as the vaccine composition changes annually depending on the changes in virus strains.
  • The vaccine cannot cause the flu because it does not contain a live virus.

Vaccination allows you to endure the disease in a milder form and reduces the risk of complications.

Following preventive rules will help protect you and your loved ones from acute respiratory diseases!

Take care of yourself and stay healthy!
